How we work... Our Process
Converting your images into works of art is something we take seriously. For a brief time we become the caretaker of your memories, transforming them into stunning reflections of those cherished moments. We consider this a responsibility and an honor.
1) The first step in the process is for you to select and deliver the images. The highest quality input delivers the best results. We accept image files in JPG format, photos up to 8”x10”, slides and 35mm/APC or larger negatives. Larger format reproductions require the highest detail and not all input will be suitable for larger reproductions. Conversion into Giclée prints mimicking “Oil painting” or “Watercolor”, are the most forgiving. Photo Real prints are the least forgiving for large format. See “About your photographs”...
2) The second step is preparing the image for artistic improvement and print production. During this step your originals are scanned or input into our systems and the files are readied for conversion.
3) The third step of the process images are manipulated. They are cropped to provide pleasing composition, lighting and contrast are optimized, images resized and color corrections made. If optional retouching/restoration has been selected it is applied. If conversion to “Oil”, “Watercolor”, Black and White or Sepia has been selected our artists and technicians painstakingly make the conversions.
4) The forth step is where the “Giclée” printing takes place. Special inks and media are used. Combined they are designed to provide fade resistance beyond 100 years. Sizes above 12x18 require special handling. If a canvas print is made it is quality checked and a special UV coating is applied. This coating provides dirt dust and moisture resistance in a flexible film containing UV Light filters and stabilizers which provide archival protection reducing light damage.
5) In the fifth step we apply your selected mounting and frame options. |
